The meeting went off very well and all the participants were very pleased with the standard of accommodation, the food and the conference organisation. All the staff were very helpful.

I would just like to say a thank you to your event management and service teams on behalf of our companies and shareholders. We found the attention to our needs, service, rooms and venues exceeded our expectations.

“Fantastic Value and Great Bar Food”

The Hawkwell House Hotel is a rare fnd. Close enough to Oxford to see the sights, but secluded and quiet in its setting. My room was quiet and comfortable. the revelation was the bar food. i ate with a colleague, we had a curry and a shepherds pie. they were amazing - and less than £10 each.

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for superb value for money.

Now that I’m well & truly back down to earth after last week’s conference I’d like to say another huge thank you to both yourself & all the staff of Hawkwell House Hotel for looking after us so well throughout our event. Feedback is coming in to me now & everyone certainly enjoyed themselves.

We just wanted to say thank you to Gary and everyone at Hawkwell House for organising our wedding on the 30th of July 2011.

Everything went very smoothly, we had a great day, and all our guests had nothing but compliments for our choice of venue. We were lucky to get married on a sunny day, and doing the ceremony outside on the lawn, surrounded by all those beautiful trees was very special for us. The food was excellent, even my family and friends from France were impressed! The bridal suite was wonderful, and felt very private, its just a shame it was such a short night and we didnt have more time to enjoy it!

So again, thank you very much for a fantastic day!

“Nice hotel in a quiet location”

It's a pleasant hotel just out of Oxford. The breakfast was included in our rate and was just fine. The onsite bar is also good and there's heaps of room to spread out and relax on the couches, and the bar prices are no more expensive than in town. It was about a 30 minute walk into Oxford centre, along a lovely part of the Thames river, though in wet weather it could have been a little inconvenient. The hotel had a pleasant and relaxed and quiet atmosphere. The internet was fast, there was heaps of onsite parking and the room was comfortable and clean. I would definitely recommend this place to others.

Yesterday was our daughters wedding, I have to congratulate the Hawkwell for making her day even more wonderful for her, Gary the wedding coordinator was absolutely fantastic, nothing was to much, he was there, with his gentle smile alway calm and very reasurring, the whole day was absolutely brilliant, my daughter and her husband has nothing to worry about every litttle detail was taken care of. Thank you Gary xxxx

The bedroom was modern and well furnished. The public rooms were comfortable and the full English breakfast was very well cooked. But the most attractive aspect was its
location in the small village of Iffley which gave it a holiday feel and was only about 40 minutes walk along the towpath into Oxford. Yet in about 5 minutes walk to the main road there were frequent buses for the short ride into Oxford centre. As a bonus there
was also ample free parking. We were only there for one night but our experience of the staff was that they were all atentative and helpful

Two Night Stay
Hawkwell House is very easy to get to from the Oxford Ring Road and very conveient for bus services into the centre of town. Service is efficient and friendly. The quality of the room we had (in the annexe) was very high - comfortable, tidy and well equipped. Breakfast was also high quality and generously served and the dining room was a pleasant conservatory style space.

“Excellent hotel”

A one night stay while visiting Oxford for dinner. Hotel is easily reached from the southern ring-road with directions on local road signs and ample parking. Attractive gardens and nice decor. Reception were welcoming and booked us our taxi to go out that evening and it arrived right on time. A taxi to central Oxford takes less than 10 minutes and was £7.50. If it had been better weather we would have walked along the river towpath which is about 25 minutes but well worth doing. Room was modern, comfortable and clean. Shower had good water pressure. Price for Oxford was competitive. When we got back we enjoyed a late night drink in the bar while watching the 1st Ashes Test on Sky. All staff were smartly dressed, polite and helpful. Breakfast in the morning was very good - plenty of choice (full English, cold meats, cheeses, fruit, cereal, toast, juices) and good coffee. The lounge with open fire, comfy sofas and newspapers is a particularly nice place to spend the evening when it's cold outside. I would think it's better to be out in the gardens in the summer.

I'd like to thank you for the lovely day at my daughter's wedding in February. The staff were helpful and efficient, the food was excellent and we couldn't have asked for more. Special thanks to Gary for all his help with the arrangements and for being so patient.

Fantastic New Years Eve Wedding!
Just had the best wedding ever. Venue was perfect, everything went well and the food was fantastic. Gary did a brilliant job in organizing the event and was really helpful with us putting our decorations in the room. Would definitely recommend it as both a wedding venue and hotel.

“Staying here again!”

We loved this charming hotel set in a cozy area. The room was large and fashionable and the bath was large and newly remodeled. We had the English breakfast plan and the service and quaility of food was great. We enjoyed the bar and lounge each evening. Warm fire each night was welcoming. I highly recommend this hotel and we are picky American travelers!

Area recommendations

This hotel is located away from the busy city of Oxford in a lovely area. By car it took us about 10 minutes to travel to the University.

"I just wanted to say to you and all the staff, thank you very very much for helping us to have such a wonderful family party for my mum. I'm sure she'll be thanking you herself when she's come down from cloud nine! Like all people organising parties, we were anxious for everything to go well and it did.

This was very much down to your staff doing their jobs well and professionally. People commented on how good the food was. My mum was very pleased with the salmon and the whole spread was impressive so do thank the chef - the volume of food was very good. The tables looked lovely and the staff brought the band their food without us having to do any reminding.

Arthur at the bar was very friendly and tended to everybody at the bar. Casha also got everything just perfect in the room and advised us of lighting, as well as reassuring us of all the arrangements. Nothing was forgotten and staff were polite and couldn't have been more helpful.

Guests who stayed also thought the hotel was smart, I must say the carpets look really good. The suite my mother had was brilliant!

Thank you very much for a memorable occasion.

I will certainly recommend your hotel, I can understand why people who have had their wedding parties with you rave on about the hotel."

"John and I just wanted to say a very big thank you to yourself and all the staff at the Hawkwell for all the hard work that was put into our daughter's wedding last Saturday. The Hawkwell is in a beautiful location and, with the weather as good as it was, people were able to enjoy a stroll in the garden as well. We could not have asked for a better day and all our guests were very complimentary about the surroundings, food and service.

Claire and Steve were very happy with everything and I'm sure will have many happy memories. Claire was particularly appreciative of your being so flexible and allowing her to have an excellent room for Friday night and keeping it until she left for the wedding. It certainly made our lives easier, having adjoining rooms and being able to easily pop from one to another.
