10. Oxford Castle Unlocked
Oxford Castle – Unlocked reveals Oxford’s less well known history, one that’s rich with tales of great escapes, betrayal and even romance – all within the walls of this ancient castle and prison.
The site has been used as a place of incarceration since 1071, continuing until the closure of HM Prison in 1996. The old buildings have been preserved and are now open to the public revealing a time capsule – allowing the buildings to tell their story.

The 18 hole Championship Course can be described as 'an inland links course' with the most remarkable views of Oxford's dreaming spires.There are a variety ofholes which reward the thinking golfer.
The Spires Golf Course, opened by Sir Bobby Robson in July 2006, can be played as 9 or 18 holes. This course is ideal for the golfer with limited time to spare as the whole course can be played in under 2 hours.
